Since 2004 we have provided funding to many wounded Veterans, including spouses of our Fallen Warriors. What is unique about how we disperse financial help is that we ask our member Veterans to send out the checks to those new to our organization. Along with each check, our Vets send a letter introducing themselves, telling their own stories and letting recipients know they have someone who understands and is there for them. With limited resources, the WHOA checks are not huge but they come with something most valuable, even priceless – second chances to make a new life because someone cares.

Every dollar counts at WHOA. Your donation will go a long way to help the Wounded Heroes and their families.

Read excerpts from some of their letters below.

My Name is Thomas Jennings and I’m a Disabled Veteran. I joined the Marines in 1996, I was stationed at Camp Pendleton and went to the Amphibious Assault School in del Mar. I served 9 years and 8 months and loved being at the tip of the spear. I went overseas 3 times which include places such as Jordan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Dubai, Kosovo and many others. I loved the camaraderie of the Marine Corp and I met some of the finest, loyal and awesome friends that I will ever have in my life. I was referred to Wounded Heroes of America by my buddy Ernesto Gutierrez, who served with me in Okinawa under Combat Assault Battalion. Wounded Heroes of America has helped me by providing financial advice as well as hosting family events, not only to bond with my family but with other veterans. I truly thank them for all the help and support they have given me and my wife, as well as my 4 little ones. Keep up the good work SEMPER FI!!!
