Another example of the community stepping up for our Wounded Vets

Congratulation to Gil Rojas- “Your vocational scholarship in the amount of $3506.61 has been approved”

Sgt Gil Rojas an Iraq combat wounded Veteran was awarded a scholarship from the Southbay Sunrise Rotary Club of Torrance CA to attend a dog training school. As time passes , more and more of our returning combat veterans are receiving service dogs to help with Post Traumatic Stress ( PTSD ), now we will have someone in our group knowledgeable in that area thanks to the Sunrise Rotary Club of Torrance. This has been a most wonderful and successful partnership between Wounded Heroes of America and a local Rotary club. These Rotarians have gone over and above to embrace our foundation and our vets. We’ve had the good fortune to have been the recipient of some of their fundraiser as well as they have adopted some of our families for Christmas and now scholarship to one of our wounded Vets. They are truly another example of the community joining in and helping make life a little better for those that have sacrifice so much for all of us and today they stepped up to help Gil further his education and ultimately be of service to other combat wounded vets.

A special thanks to Club President Rosy Riera-Schwartz for making this happens.
