I still remember one of our first monthly dinners at El Cholo; I was having a conversation with one of the wives and began to discuss life as a military wife. As she shared her story I noticed how similar our experiences were in every way, as if she was retelling my story. This and other encounters with the wives have demonstrated that the Wounded Heroes of America Foundation is not only a place for the veterans to bond, it has also become a great place for me as a wife to continuously find commonality, encouragement and support from other members.
Being a part of the foundation has been such a rewarding experience for both Will and I. It has been a great opportunity to not only make new friends and take part in community events such as the Christmas program, 4th of July firework booth and Annual Redondo Beach Bike Ride. These and other events allow us to see the heroes and their families come together and enjoy opening gifts with Santa, celebrating our pride for this country and enjoy the little things in life like a nice bike ride along the coast. With that said I welcome you and your families to the Wounded Heroes of America Foundation and look forward to celebrating your courage.
