We at Wounded Heroes of America have learned that a simple “tip” can be a game-changer. While Webster’s Dictionary defines it as advice, we’ve found it’s a helpful hint that can lead to incredible things. We may not have deep pockets, but our years of work in Southern California have given us a network of friends and a reputation for solving problems for our veterans.
Our success often comes from the valuable tips we get about organizations providing resources far beyond our budget.
• Mortgage-Free Homes: One day, a veteran told us he received a mortgage-free home from the Military Warrior Support Foundation in Texas. We took that tip, shared the details with our group, and encouraged them to apply. As a result, 13 of our veterans received mortgage-free homes.
• New Cars: We had a young female veteran whose car kept breaking down. Just in time, we heard about Progressive’s “Keys to Progress” program, which donates new cars to veterans on Veterans Day. We applied on her behalf, and she received a new car. Over the years, we’ve helped three more veterans get cars through this program.
• Furnished Homes: We also connected with Furnishing Hope, a wonderful organization that furnishes homes for combat-wounded veterans. Many of our veterans, thanks to this tip, received new, high-quality furniture for their entire homes.
Our latest success story is Paul, who acted on a tip we gave him and now enjoys a brand new SUV. As the saying goes, we may not be experts, but we’re quick with a good tip for the right person.

We are incredibly grateful to the Military Warrior Support Foundation, Furnishing Hope, and Progressive Insurance. Your generosity truly represents the best of America.
