March 2019 – In a year from now, no one will remember the rains and snow of February and March of 2019- It may well be the winter that ended the drought in California.

We finally got our Day at The Ranch, originally scheduled for Feb 16th, but due to weather, the ranch was a foot under snow. So, we reschedule for March 16th, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather.

The folks at Horse of The Sun Ranch were amazing as always. We truly believe them when they say that our kids coming up there is one of the best days of the year for them. I can’t emphasize enough what love and care they show our children and veterans.

We had a blast and the kids love it- They got to do Arts & Crafts, ride horses, shoot arrows, make new friends and see old ones. “A picture says a thousand words”- In the riding area there were more volunteers them horse and kids. Archery is always a big attraction. The instructors really take their time with the kids and adults as well. BTW –kids are hands down better then adults.

We had a great lunch and afterwards were treated to a demonstrated of sheepdogs at work controlling a herd of sheep. These dogs are amazing. When you see them at work you realize why they’re called sheepdogs- Very cool to watch.

The trip to the ranch is long one, probably two to three hours away for most of our families, but when you see the kids and how much they enjoy the activities, and how much love the volunteers show our military families, it really makes for a wonderful experience and a very a special day-

From all of us at Wounded Heroes of America thank you so much for what you do for our kids.
