Thanksgiving 2016

Mike Talleda Events, Past Events

The end of 2016 is fast approaching, and what a great year we’ve had so far.

We’ve added new veterans and their families to WHOA. We’ve formed new friendships and solidified old ones. We continue to successfully advocate on behalf of our vets. We’ve accomplished amazing feats with our business partners like Progressive Insurance. Once again one of our veterans has a new car, some have new homes and new furniture, some are no longer living in shelters, and others are waiting to get into shelters. El Cholo Restaurant continues to be the center of our fellowship programs, and owner Ron Salisbury continues to show his love and support for our veterans and their families. LA County Fair and Horse of the Sun Ranch continue to help us bring together large groups of veterans and their families. We operate with limited resources and still somehow manage to make things happen for our vets.
We’re eternally grateful for the friends we’ve made over the years, and we hope each relationship continues to grow. We hope we can continue to help—to the best of our abilities—the veterans who cross our path.
We just had a wonderful evening handing out 75 complete turkey dinners not only to the veterans from WHOA but also to those from the Los Angeles Vet Center in Gardena, California. All of this was made possible because of Albertsons Market, one of our great friends. This is the time of year to be especially thankful for what we have, and we are. Thank you to every one of our friends who helps make it possible for us to assist our combat wounded veterans. All that’s left this year is our biggest and most enjoyable program, Operation Santa, where we work hard to put smiles on the faces of many children.
From all of us at WHOA, Happy Thanksgiving, and our sincere gratitude and respect for those who have served this country to protect our way of life.
