Every December, Santa and his helpers get really busy at WHOA. Operation Santa 2017 has started in earnest this weekend. We have approximately 200 children of our Fallen and Wounded Warriors on Santa’s list this year and while most are here in So Cal, we also have kids in many other states including the Navajo Reservation in Arizona. Operation Santa is one of our most labor intensive as well as expensive programs – we always need help with funding and toys. While we get many toys donated, we still have to purchase a large portion of the toys that we deliver and ship. The purchasing, wrapping, shipping and delivering is all done personally by our vets. We at WHOA are well aware that the holidays are a particularly tough time of the year for many Combat Veterans, so we put a lot of emphasis on getting as many of our vets and families involved in Operation Santa as possible. It’s one of our favorite programs, and it has a great deal of therapeutic value to many of the vets who participate, but at the end of the day it’s all about the kids. Get involved – You can drop off any new, unwrapped toys at our office 12/05 Shopping & wrapping continue and shipping begins- We have many children outside California. Today was a shopping day- Several of our vets took advantage of sales and special pricing at the Disney Store at 14147 Hawthorne BL Hawthorne CA 90250 or go online https\://woundedheroesofamerica.org/donate /
